Effective Date: February 1, 2016
Welcome to WeDo, and thank you for using our website, mobile application, and other products and services (collectively, “Services”). Our mission is to provide a collaboration hub for wedding and event planning. We fulfill this mission by helping people organize ideas and gather feedback from family, friends, and businesses (each person or business, a “User”). The collaboration and planning occurs as you post, share, and discuss photos, comments, links and other materials. We want you to understand how we treat your information. We also want you to understand how you can protect your privacy, which is important to us.

Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
Sign Up and Profile Information
When you sign up for WeDo through our website or mobile application, you must give us certain information. Specifically, the following information is required to create an account:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Company name (for Users operating under or in connection with a Business Account)
- Event affiliation (e.g., the name of the event with whom the User is affiliated)
In addition, every User profile may contain the following information at the User’s choice:
- Phone Number
- Location (optional in mobile app settings)
- Zip Code
Every event will have a profile containing the following information:
- Email and phone number of the User creating the event profile
- Event name, date, location, and key people involved
- Event username (with a unique URL/web address)
- Photo (e.g., of the couple getting married)
You may also sign up for WeDo through a third party service such as Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. If you do so, we collect any information that the third-party service shares with us, such as but not limited to your username, email address, social connections, user content (e.g., Pinterest boards), and profile picture.
As noted above, each User has a WeDo profile. By default, other Users can see the following information in your profile: name, photo, phone number, email address, and activity (e.g., Thoughts, Replies to Thoughts, Photos, To Dos) within our Services (to the extent permissions are set to allow viewing of those activities).
Using Our Key Features
You share information when you use WeDo’s key features, such as sending messages (e.g. Thoughts) to other Users (including event vendors and other businesses); posting/sharing pictures (which might include your location); sharing a User’s Pinterest boards; and assigning To Dos. We may add or modify our key features from time to time.
You also share information when you invite people to join WeDo. An invitation from you will include your name, email address, event name, and the photo assigned to that event.
You may find friends by sending a text or email from your account, in which case your phone number and email address will also be shared with that person. You may import contacts into WeDo from your address book as well as social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. We will ask your permission before importing any contacts.
Information Other Users Share
Other WeDo Users may, in their personal discretion, inadvertently or intentionally share information about you through or outside of our Services. For example, they may share your post about an event vendor with another User. They may copy and send to someone else a private message you sent them. Or they may copy or take a “screen shot” of your information or posting within our Service and post that information to a third party service such as Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.
We collect a variety of information about your location. For example, you may choose to give us your zip code when you sign up for WeDo. We may use zip codes to track business trends and to identify nearby event vendors or other businesses you might like.
We also collect location information if you share your hometown in your profile, or your current location in a post or message. You may also enable location services on your computer, mobile phone or other device. Enabling location services allows us to use information from cellular, Wi-Fi, and Global Positioning System networks to determine your approximate location.
You have the option to disable your location services on your computer, mobile phone, or other device while using or Services. You can also terminate device location tracking by uninstalling our application or terminating your account. If you have questions about how to disable your device’s location services, we recommend you contact your mobile service carrier or the manufacture of your particular device.
Whenever you use any website or mobile app, a great deal of technical information is automatically collected. The same is true when you use WeDo.
When you use our Services, we automatically collect information about your device and software. For example, we may collect information about the model of your computer or mobile device, operating system, web browser, and Internet Provider or mobile carrier. We may also automatically receive your IP address, a unique number assigned to your computer or other device.
One way we collect technical information is by using “cookies”. A cookie is a small file sent to your computer or other device. We use both session cookies, which last until you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which last until you or your browser delete them.
Cookies allow us to identify you when you return to our website or mobile app. They also allow us to store settings so you don’t have to configure WeDo every time you use our Services. Lastly, cookies help us gather statistical information, such as how long you visit our website.
We do not use IP addresses or other technical information to identify a User unless we determine that it is necessary to enforce our policies and terms of service, to protect WeDo or our Users, or to comply with the law.
How We Use Information
Many of the ways we use your information are described throughout this policy. We also use your information to:
- Provide our Services
- Help you access information quickly and efficiently
- Provide you with personalized content
- Tell you about businesses near you
- Tell businesses what you think about their services
- Offer you additional services
- Test, fix, and improve our Services
- Protect WeDo and our Users
- Enforce our policies and Terms of Service
If you have questions about how we use your information, please email us at Privacy@WeDo.com.
How We Share Information
We do not share your information with businesses or people outside of WeDo except in the following instances:
When You Choose to Share Information
As explained in this policy, you may choose to share information through using the key features of WeDo. The information you choose to share may be visible to the public or only certain other Users, depending on your account settings. A User creating an event has the ability to control the permissions of other Users connected to that event (e.g., one User may have access to all event categories, while another User may have access only to a couple categories, such as Photography and Venue). By default, a User connected to an event can view the activity (e.g., To Dos, Thoughts, Photos) of all other Users who have permissions to that User’s categories.
An event profile is, by default, private to the Users connected to that particular event profile. The Users who created that event profile, however, may, in their discretion, choose to make the event profile public, in which case the event name, photo, date, location, registries, and other information in that profile will be visible to the general public and may be stored by and accessible through search engines such as Google.
When You Give Us Permission
We may share your information when you give us permission. For example, you may give us permission to link your WeDo account to Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest. You also may give businesses permission to contact you about their services by connecting with them through our Services.
With Our Service Providers
We may share your information with businesses we use to provide you with our Services. For example, we may share information with a company to store data or with a consultant to help us with security issues.
We allow businesses, such as event venues, caterers and service providers, to sign up for an account with WeDo (a “Business Account”). By default, businesses do not have access to specific or personal information within an event profile or within a User’s profile. We may, however, share with businesses using our Services aggregate and/or de-identified information about local events being planned through our Services. In addition, if a User elects to make an event profile public, businesses will have access to information in that public profile (which may be found through a search engine or by visiting the URL/web address of the event).
A User may, in that User’s discretion, choose to connect with a business (such as a specific vendor) through our Service. Once connected, that business will be provided access to event profile information, including but not limited to User contact information, event name, event locations, guest count, and budget ranges.
For Legal Reasons
We may share information with attorneys or law enforcement authorities to address violations of our policies, terms of service, or illegal behavior. We also may share information demanded in a court order or otherwise required by law, or to prevent harm to people or property.
For a Change of Control
Your information may be transferred to another business if WeDo undergoes a change in control, such as through a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, or reorganization.
If we anticipate a change of control, we will notify you before transferring your information to another business.
How We Protect Your Information
We follow industry standards to protect your information. Unfortunately, even with industry standard measures, we cannot guarantee that your information is 100% secure. By using our Services, you acknowledge that we make no such guarantee and that you use our Services at your own risk.
What Choices You Have About Your Information
We strive to give you simple and meaningful choices about your information. Those choices include:
- Changing your account settings
- Changing information in your profile
- Linking or unlinking your account from your address book or social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest
- Closing your account
You may also have the choice to control cookies and location enabled services on your computer, mobile phone, or other device. To learn about those choices, please see the instructions given by your device or software provider.
Please note that closing your account may not permanently remove your information with us. For example, if you shared information with other Users while using our Services, that information may remain visible. Additionally, we may keep information for backup, audit, or other business purposes or because we are legally required to do so.
WeDo is not directed to children under age 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from or about children under age 13. If you believe that a child under age 13 is using WeDo, please contact us immediately at Privacy@WeDo.com.
